Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek is a short hiking program starting from Thimphu to a large number of dazzling high altitude lakes. It is the only trek in Bhutan which offers you amazing views of the entire Bhutanese Himalayan range including Kanchenjunga (the world’s 3rd highest mountain located in between Sikkim-Nepal. Only a few trekkers have trekked in this region. The first two days of Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek is a bit difficult with an uphill climb. But, the view en-route is worth the climb. During the trek, you will encounter plenty of beautiful high altitude mountain lakes thus the name given Dagala thousand lakes. Upon arrival in Thimphu go for cultural sightseeing in Thimphu visiting Buddha’s point, Tashicho dzong, King’s Memorial Chorten, etc. Back in Paro, hike to the Taktsang Monastery ‘Tiger’s Nest’ located outskirts of Paro town. It’s believed Guru Padmasambhava flew on a back of a flying tigress and meditated here in the 8th century.
